The Alliance staff serves as the backbone of the Global Hub. The team oversees the implementation of the Alliance strategy and facilitates collaboration between the Alliance Board and Global Hub as we work together to achieve shared goals.
Ryan Bigelow
Director of projects
As Project Director, Ryan leads the Conservation Alliance’s multi-stakeholder work focused on creating solutions to some of the biggest challenges facing the responsible seafood movement. Ryan spent ten years with the Monterey Bay Aquarium where he managed the Seafood Watch program, leading communications, NGO engagement, and online strategies. Before joining our movement, Ryan lived in Japan, translating and interpreting for the Japanese government. Ryan has a BA in Japanese Studies and an MA in International Environmental Policy from the Middlebury Institute of International Studies.
Shelley Feist
INTERIM EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
As Interim Director of the Alliance, Shelley leverages her expertise leading coalitions and addressing organizational development and effectiveness to help bring greater clarity to the role of the Alliance and our Global Hub within the responsible seafood movement. Prior to joining the Alliance team, Shelley’s career has spanned a variety of nonprofit senior executive roles where she’s led multi-organization teams, collaborated with United States government departments and US Senators, and created philanthropic strategies. Shelley holds a Bachelor of Science in Communications from Minnesota State University and is a long-time resident of Washington, DC.
Meaghan Hudgins
SENIOR Director OF OPERATIONS AND DEVELOPMENT
As Senior Director of Operations and Development, Meaghan leads the Alliance’s community building and engagement efforts, sponsorship fundraising, and organizational governance. She also supports the various leadership bodies and manages the Alliance’s daily operations to ensure a strong organizational framework exists to drive effective community action. Meaghan brings relevant experience from both the non-profit and corporate sectors. She worked in the development department at the Lyric Opera of Chicago and in corporate giving and business development at a large commercial law firm. Meaghan holds a degree in Journalism from Indiana University.
Laura Miller
DIRECTOR OF COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT
As Director of Community Engagement, Laura connects the Alliance’s community of collaborative changemakers with the resources and support needed to make more progress. Before joining the Alliance, Laura worked with fishing communities in Africa, Asia, and Latin America, supported the team at Fair Trade USA as they launched the world’s first Fair Trade Certified seafood, and was part of the oceans program development team at WWF-Canada. She holds a Master’s in Marine Management from Dalhousie University and a Bachelor’s in Environmental Studies from York University.
