Nina Nichols joined the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) in August 2024 as the Commercial and Fisheries Manager for Western Canada. In this role, she builds partnerships that support fisheries in their efforts to achieve improvements toward MSC certification and supports existing MSC-certified fisheries and commercial partners. Her background includes work in First Nations fisheries policy and program management, with a focus on advancing climate-resilient seafood systems in British Columbia under the United Nations Decade of Ocean Science. Nina focuses on cross-sector collaboration to identify practical solutions and make measurable progress toward sustainable oceans.

She holds a Bachelor’s in Environmental Science and Biology from the University of California, Davis, and a Master’s in Natural Resource Management from Simon Fraser University.
