The Conservation Alliance for Seafood Solutions is proud to announce the addition of its newest collaborating organization, Sea Delight Ocean Fund. With ties to both industry and NGOs, paired with seafood business expertise, SDOF brings an immense and unique value to the Alliance community.
“We are thrilled to welcome the business experience of Sea Delight Ocean Fund to the roster of specialized expertise represented by our community,” said Frazer McGilvray, Executive Director of the Conservation Alliance. “Their position as a bridge between industry and NGOs will provide helpful insight on issues that could benefit from an industry perspective.”
The Sea Delight Ocean Fund, a 501c3 initiative founded by Sea Delight LLC, supports global Fishery Improvement Projects (FIPs), creates and promotes awareness of responsible fishing practices and adequate fisheries management, seeks to minimize the impact of bycatch and human activity on the environment, and educates the public on the need to support such programs in order to protect marine resources.
Though the official collaboration is new, Sea Delight Ocean Fund is no stranger to the Alliance community—in the past, the organization’s Sustainability Director, Adriana Sanchez, has collaborated with other Alliance members on FIP work, such as her work supporting FIP Guidelines revisions with fisheryprogress.org. Sea Delight looks forward to now being able to have an inside look at how the Alliance operates so as to become more effective in the seafood sustainability field.
“It is truly an honor for SDOF to be accepted as a collaborator by such a renowned group of organizations. I look forward to taking advantage of this opportunity to learn more about the work the Alliance does to support our commitments towards seafood sustainability and be able to provide industry insight so that together, we can successfully push forward with addressing the issues affecting our oceans today,” said Sanchez.
