Meghan has gained a strong background in marine resource management and fisheries science from the Bren School of Environmental Science & Management, as well as experience as a research associate for the Climate Resilient Fisheries SNAPP working group. Currently, at TNC, she manages and supports several fisheries and technology-related projects focused on the global adoption of electronic monitoring (EM) across industrial fishing worldwide.

Meghan’s primary focus areas include 1) advancing EM for social responsibility to support crew welfare at sea, 2) developing EM-enabled bycatch solutions to support improved fisheries management (including the Shark Bycatch Mitigation Decision Support Tool), and 3) supporting the development of new edge-based AI/ML technology to improve the
status quo of EM review.
