Laura McDearis

Laura McDearis is the U.S. Program Director for the Marine Stewardship Council, leading the U.S. program in supporting fisheries, seafood businesses, and stakeholders as they work to meet the growing demand for certified environmentally sustainable fisheries and seafood. McDearis joined the MSC in 2017 and led corporate partnership engagement across the US.

McDearis’ background includes working at a sportfishing lodge in Alaska, acting as an observer in the snow crab fishery, serving as a fisheries management consultant for Ecuadorian spiny lobster, and co-founding a sustainable seafood company in California. She is based in Seattle, Washington.
