Nina Rosen, Project Director, FishWise

Nina Rosen is a Project Director at FishWise, working to connect the efforts of the global seafood movement to the due diligence efforts of companies. Nina is motivated by the power of multi-stakeholder collaborations and data to prevent illegal, unreported, and unregulated fishing, and her work often lies at the intersection of transparency, traceability, and verification. Nina came to FishWise with experience engaging with fishing cooperatives in Baja Sur, Mexico which informed her role in the Seafood Alliance for Legality and Traceability (SALT) project. During SALT, Nina applied the Comprehensive Traceability Principles in Tanzania by collaborating with the government, local industry, and civil society, resulting in a traceability plan for a small-scale octopus fishery. Nina’s interdisciplinary background and work with small-scale fisheries allow her to view seafood security through an environmental, economic, and social lens.
