The Conservation Alliance for Seafood Solutions convenes a Global Hub of members representing over 150 organizations across 25 countries working together to improve the sustainability and responsibility of seafood supply chains. The movement makes more progress when this community of collaborative changemakers is connected to the resources and support they need.
Movement leader and longtime Global Hub member, Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC), is helping to ensure the Alliance can create the greatest impact possible by committing to another year of sponsorship of the Alliance.

The team at ASC is making waves in the industry, with its Feed Standard generating a wave of positive change in feed production. The standard was very well received at a busy panel discussion at Seafood Expo Global in Barcelona last week.
ASC’s Feed Standard tackles one of the biggest potential environmental and social impacts of aquaculture – the production and supply of feed for farmed fish. The ASC Feed Standard is the first standard to consider the impacts created across all key ingredient groups and throughout the ingredient supply chain, aligning with upcoming European Union regulations. This includes all major agriculture crops such as wheat, corn and canola, in addition to soy and palm oil, and marine ingredients.
There has been strong uptake of the programme already, with Vimifos, Skretting and Thai Union each achieving certification for feed mill sites. There are now eight certified mills across Mexico, Chile, Ecuador and Thailand – all producing ASC compliant feed. With more feed companies currently in the audit process, the spread of more environmentally and socially responsible feed production continues to grow globally.
ASC’s Feed Standard requires that feed mills meet strict environmental and social requirements; source ingredients from socially responsible suppliers; and use environmentally responsible raw materials. The Feed Standard was launched on 15 June 2021 and became effective on 14 January 2023.
