Leo Pradela, Walton Foundation

Leonardo Pradela (“Leo”) is a program officer at the Walton Family Foundation. He joined the organization in 2022 and manages a portfolio of grants designed to increase the demand for sustainable seafood and to improve conditions of fisheries and ocean health in face of climate change. For over a decade, Leo worked both in the nonprofit and private sectors developing programs for environmental conservation and corporate sustainability. More recently, he worked at Wells Fargo conducting due diligence on high-risk banking operations. And previously, Leo worked at Walmart and the Walmart Foundation, implementing corporate and philanthropic strategies that reduce deforestation in global supply chains while creating shared value and improving livelihoods. He also had other roles supporting and implementing forest conservation initiatives throughout the Brazilian Amazon while working for the Brazilian Biodiversity Fund (FUNBIO), a non-profit focused on providing strategic resources for biodiversity conservation. Leo received his MPA in Environmental Science and Policy from Columbia University and his B.A. in International Relations from PUC-Rio.
