As the Business Intelligence Manager for the Global Ocean Conservation programs of the Monterey Bay Aquarium, Kiel Edson manages the Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning Program and oversee data collection, analysis, visualization, and reporting for the program’s global seafood sustainability information, consumer outreach activities, business partnerships, and in-country engagement and conservation projects. This role involves designing and implementing the MEL framework, detailed workstream tracking, and evaluating and demonstrating the program’s global impact. This work enables adaptive strategy management through developing an organization-wide understanding of the connection between strategy and its intended outcome as well as tracking and reporting on progress towards these outcomes.
Kiel graduated summa cum laude from the University of Maryland with an M.S. in Sustainable Development & Conservation Biology and an M.P.P in Environmental Public Policy.
