Laura Elizabeth Ibarra García

Laura is a Marine Biologist with a Ph.D. in the Use, Management, and Preservation of Natural Resources from the Center for Biological Research of the Northwest (CIBNOR). She has experience in scientific research in aquaculture, fisheries and in the design of science and technology-based ventures. Since 2022, she has been implementing Fishery Improvement Projects (FIP) in the Yucatán Peninsula, using them as tools for the sustainable management of fisheries. Currently, she serves as the Sustainable Fisheries Coordinator at Pronatura Noroeste, where she leads a team implementing seven FIPs in Northwest Mexico.
